🐈‍⬛ WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEK:

Last night, I stayed up late watching TV with my teens, the two who helped me start TKSST 14 years ago. And long after the last episode ended, we were still talking—from heroic journeys to friendships, to decision-making, to the things that shape who we are.

It is a habit many families share. We watch something, listen to something, or read before bed. Picture books when they were small. Chapter books as they grew. And then we wander, giving our kids space to name what they think and feel. Not forced. Just following the conversation. Listening. Sharing.

I know the challenges of getting older kids to engage; we’ve been there, too. But this habit we built when they were little has carried us through. The stories, both fiction and nonfiction, gave us a place to start. The conversations that followed gave us a place to stay.

Happy New Year. May 2026 bring more stories and storytellers into your life—the ones that give you places to start, reasons to wander, and places worth staying.
